    Dr. Tamblyn with patient Avista Internal MedicineAvista Internal Medicine provides primary care and internal medicine services to men and women age 14 and older. Our practice also welcomes seniors and we do accept Medicare.

    We understand the importance of preventative care and encourage healthy lifestyle choices that help our patients prevent or manage disease. We specialize in diagnosing and treating adult diseases including cardiovascular diseases, endocrinology and rheumatology.

  • Dr. Babak MoiniDr. Babak Moini is board-certified in internal medicine. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California in Davis and holds a masters degree in physiology from Georgetown University. He earned his medical degree in Richmond at the Medical College of Virginia and completed his internal medicine residency in Cleveland at University Hospitals Case Medical Center and Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.

    When it comes to treating his patients, Dr. Moini’s focus is on preventive medicine. When managing his patients’ chronic medical conditions, he always puts their needs first. Dr. Moini works with his patients to create customized care plans, utilizing evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic decision making and incorporating lifestyle changes with medical therapy.

    Dr. Moini enjoys all aspects of internal medicine, but has a special interest in cardiovascular diseases and endocrine diseases. He is also passionate about global health. Dr. Moini is fluent in English and Farsi.

    When he’s not treating patients, Dr. Moini enjoys skiing, competing in triathlons, hiking, cooking and spending time with his wife, son and two dogs.

    Jennifer Tamblyn, MDAs an internal medicine physician, Dr. Jennifer Tamblyn is specially trained to diagnose and treat adult diseases. She provides primary care for both men and women, is fluent in English and Spanish, and has a special interest in women's health, cardiovascular disease and rheumatology.

    Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Colorado at Denver, where she also completed a Master of Science in Public Health degree. She completed her residency at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver.

    Dr. Tamblyn has served as an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Colorado, and has a passion for teaching medical students. She has also served as assistant program director for the university's internal medicine residency program. She has won several awards for excellence in medical education, professionalism, and serving as a role model for practicing compassionate patient care.

    She enjoys mountain and road biking, hiking, alpine skiing and traveling, and spending time with her husband and two children.

    Pamela Vallejo-Craig, MDDr. Pamela Vallejo-Craig graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with degrees in Biology, Chemistry and Spanish before attending the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School for her medical school, internship and residency. Before moving to Colorado in 2010, she worked in private practice in Dallas, TX, where she also served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.

    Dr. Vallejo is board certified in internal medicine and also holds a Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from Cornell University. Dr. Vallejo believes that a plant-based diet can alter and sometimes reverse many common diseases we see today such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol and obesity. Nutrition education is a large focus of her practice. Dr. Vallejo emphasizes lifestyle medication and nutrition to all her patients and enjoys working with patients motivated to achieve their optimal health.

    When not working, Dr. Vallejo enjoys spending time with her husband and four children.

    Gemma Stella, NPGemma Stella is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who recently joined the Avista Internal Medicine team. Gemma completed her Bachelors in Nursing from The University of Rochester in upstate New York. As a critical care nurse, she gained experience with complex patients while working in the Surgical ICU in both Colorado and New York. This experience led Gemma to complete her advanced practice training in preventative medicine at Georgetown University. 

    As a result of her training, Gemma has special interest in preventing chronic disease in adults. Gemma is excited use her passion for disease prevention to help her patients achieve optimal health by applying the most up to date research in combination with patients' lifestyles. Gemma enjoys working with her patients and their families to find a unique treatment and prevention plan tailored to each patient's needs.

    Originally from England, Gemma was raised in Colorado. When she's not treating patients, Gemma enjoys all the mountains have to offer including skiing, horseback riding and running with her husband and dog.
